My Mom, Cheryl, Sierah and Sampson Come for a Visit...
My Mom, Cheryl, Sierah and their dog Sampson all came for a visit. They drove over 5 hours each way all in one day! We're glad they were able to come to see us while we were still in California. They brought a picnic lunch, and we all had a nice visit while the kids played with the new toys they brought them. The kids also had fun playing at the park, especially Gavin and Sierah who seemed to be instant friends (as most kids are at this age...wouldn't it be great to still have that same ability as adults of making new friends so easily!) Connor was busy running his truck through the dirt (that kid is a dirt magnet...if there's dirt, he'll find it, he'll play in it, he'll roll in it and he'll love it! Gavin's the same way. Ahhhh, boys!) Thanks for the nice visit and for driving all that way and bringing a nice lunch and new toys for the kids! We all had a lot of fun.
Gavin loves soccer, running around outside, riding his bike or scooter and playing with his brothers. He also likes school, and is very helpful and thoughtful. He likes reading and learing about the Gospel. He's still a bundle of energy, but we love it!
Updates on "Cheeks"
Connor is the biggest sweetheart and loves to snuggle. He's helpful to me and his brothers. He likes to play outside. He's our biggest daredevil on his bike or scooter or his grandpa's 4-wheeler...so far only one broken arm ;) He loves school and his teacher and spelling.
Updates on "Nuggles"
Aidan is FULL of energy. He loves to run around outside and play with the neighbors. He's learning his letters and sounds for preschool and knows his numbers and colors. Aidan is one of the big boys now and keeps up with his big brothers. He gives great hugs and snuggles!
Updates on "Mr. Squishy" or "Mr. O"
Owen is starting to talk. He says words like Mama, Dada, Bah (bath), No, Baby, Kisses, Hugs, Moh (more). His smile melts my heart and his eyes dance with light! I love this little boy!
Updates on "Monty"
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
"I have a burn in my heart." (I think Gavin meant to say heartburn.)
"Hey, don't tickle my nickels!" (I was tickling Gavin's armpits!)
Mommy: "That doesn't mean you can just sit down and throw a fit." Gavin: "I didn't. I just stood up and threw a fit."
Mommy: "Everything but cheese." Gavin: "Butt cheese. Eww gross."
Mommy: "Will you always be my little boy?" Connor: "Uh-huh...even when I'm 99."
"I love you and Bo the same." (Connor said this to me. Bo is our cat. Coming from a five-year-old little boy, I think it was meant as a compliment!"

This is a book about a young teenage boy who can see paths into the past. At first he only uses this gift to hunt with his father; to see the paths that the animals have taken. Later he meets up with a friend who has a different gift, and together they try to combine and teach each other their gifts and end up on a really cool adventure. The writing was great, as were the characters. I'm looking forward to reading the next book.
