FHE

We did this FHE (Family Home Evening) lesson a while ago and Connor had been begging to do it again so we finally did! I decorate each balloon with a face and write something about this "person" on the back of the balloon like: "Sally is quiet and never talks to anyone so I don't like her." Then we pop the balloon and hidden inside is the truth about "Sally" like "Sally is shy and has trouble making friends, but is really nice. She loves to read and play soccer." Then we talk about how we could reach out to someone like this and be their friend and not just make quick judgements about people. The kids love to get to be the ones to pop the balloons.
As you can see, FHEs are pretty informal around here...undies are acceptable apparel as are jammies and swim shorts! lol :) We just try to make it a simple and fun time together as a family.
