A Squeeky Clean Belly Button...

So...I think I must be the silliest Mom in the history of the world...let me explain...I was giving Aidan a bath last Thursday when I decided to clean out his belly button when I noticed that there was something stuck in there...that's when I remembered that at one of his newborn check-ups the doctor had mentioned that part of his umbilical cord had not fallen off yet, but should and if it didn't to let him know so he could remove it. Well, I hadn't thought about Aidan's little button for a while, so when I saw this I thought I'd better take him to the doctor's. The next day we went in, and the doctor got a Q-tip out and cleaned it and there was nothing in there but normal crustys...it took him about 10 seconds to get it all taken care of and look and me and ask (and not rudely, he was very polite about it) "Do you have any other questions?" I don't know how he kept a straight face! I tried to think of something else for him to check to make it worth our visit, but I drew a blank! I was so embarassed, but he was so nice about it and said it made sense to follow-up since he did make that comment a while back about his umbilical cord. So, now Aidan has the cleanest belly button around!
